Approximately 25,000 residences in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the area, generating wind gusts topping over 100 km/h.

Residents observed giant hailstones reaching sizes of seven centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts announced that various areas across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Rescue organizations received nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, mostly for building damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

At the height on yesterday, more than 28,000 energy customers in the state were without power.

Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along large portions of the state's eastern regions this week as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coast.

Tuesday was predicted as the most rainy day, with persistent storm activity expected across different parts of both states.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the current weather patterns.
